Hello! My name is Kerri Costarella, owner of Aba Daba Party Rentals. I run the company with the support of my husband, John, and our two tiny whirlwinds, Raegan and Kennedy. My heart for ADPR is that your event would be spectacular and memorable, without all the hassle and complexity of solo party planning. ADPR can come alongside you and take care of all the equipment details so that you can spend the day of your event making memories and having fun, rather than worrying about having enough chairs.
Aba Daba as a business dates back to 1958 and my grandfather, Gene Blackwell. All of us grandkids called him Papa, and we loved him so much. Papa was the most industrious and passionate businessman I have ever known, and he loved his business almost as much as he loved his family. He built Aba Daba from the ground up as an equipment rental business that could provide everything from backhoes, to chairs, to generators. Aba Daba was our family business for three generations, and I grew up watching and learning from my dad, Dale Blackwell, and my Step-Mom, Vicky Blackwell, who taught me everything I know. I started out washing dishes when they came back from events, and going with my dad to home and garden shows to promote Aba Daba from all sides. When I grew up, we traveled extensively to American Rental Association and California Rental Association shows. This is a company that is near and dear to my heart. The business thrived and we proudly served the Sacramento area for decades.
Recently, however, Aba Daba has gone through a transition after Gene and Dale passed away, and Vicky retired to enjoy more time with family. They were the heart of Aba Daba and have been greatly missed. In this new season, the primary business has been acquired by the Rental Guys and is now running under their brand, and I am glad to see Papa and Dad's business live on. Aba Daba Party Rentals, however, is my own offshoot. It was important to me to keep part of the business in the family, and I wanted to focus on the elements that bring me so much joy: planning and organizing equipment for parties and other celebrations.
